There was one gas station in cities across Nantucket County selling regular gas at the lowest price of $4.89 per gallon in the week ending Oct. 28, according to GasBuddy.com.

There are two gas stations in cities within Nantucket County.

The average price of regular gas in Massachusetts was $3.54, compared to $3.57 the week before.

The U.S. government missed the mark when forecasting gas prices for 2022. A short-term outlook published early in 2022 claimed gas rates would fall, when in fact gas rates rose significantly.

The outlook once again suggested that prices would fall in 2023.
