The Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival, in which the Master Gardeners participate, is an annual celebration of Cape Cod’s most loved flower: hydrangeas. The ten-day festival starts on July 8th and runs through the 17th. The festival’s main attractions are the tours of private gardens, each designed and maintained by the individual homeowners and carrying a unique charm. This year, as in the past, the Master Gardeners of Cape Cod have opened their gardens to visitors. The Master Gardeners offer “Tip Talks” in each garden to educate and inform visitors. All garden tours are held rain or shine from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and there are five properties to choose from. Master Gardeners volunteer to be docents and parking attendants at the gardens to assist visitors. Admission is $5.00 per garden and cash only.
