Does your farm or organization need new farm equipment, food safety/storage equipment, technology updates, distribution vehicles, drought resiliency solutions, or climate change resiliency solutions? Or, maybe you want to do a food systems or food security study?
The Commonwealth, through the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, released a new Food Security Infrastructure Grant Program (FSIG). The FSIG program "[ensures] that individuals and families throughout the Commonwealth have access to food, with a special focus on food that is produced locally and [equitably]..."
Awards up to $500,000. This is a reimbursement grant, therefore awardees need to cover costs upfront, but will be reimbursed later (please note that a secured loan will be accepted as proof that awardee can cover the upfront costs). Applications are due by 11:59am on Thursday, March 2nd.
