The Town announced on March 27 that several public events will be held in the coming months to inform residents about the Center for Active Living Project, which aims to expand and renovate the existing facility at 193 Stony Hill Road.

The project is seeking an additional $200,000 in funding, proposed under Article 15 of the warrant for the 2026 Annual Town Meeting. The expansion and renovation are intended to address current challenges at the Center for Active Living and provide improved space for older community members.

Residents can attend an information session on Wednesday, April 15 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Community Center located at 702 Main Street. This session will allow attendees to view plans, elevations, and material samples as well as ask questions in an informal setting.

A question-and-answer session with the CFAL Building Working Group is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22 at 5 p.m. at the Town Office Annex, located at 261 George Ryder Road. During this event, decision makers will address inquiries regarding final plans for the project.

Tours of the current Center for Active Living will also be offered on Monday, May 4 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and Thursday, May 7 from 10 a.m. to noon at its location on Stony Hill Road. These tours aim to give residents a first-hand look at both existing limitations and proposed improvements.
