The Town of Truro announced on April 15 that it is accepting applications for the position of Conservation and Health Agent, with a deadline for submissions set at May 6 at 4:00 pm.

The role is important in supporting the Town Manager, Conservation Commission, and Board of Health by gathering information, researching regulations, and implementing policy. The agent will be responsible for organizing and coordinating decisions related to conservation and health matters in the town.

Applicants are required to have a bachelor’s degree in biology or public health from an accredited college or university in environmental science, botany, hydrology, civil engineering or a related field. Candidates should also have thorough knowledge of the Wetlands Protection Act and Sanitary Code of Massachusetts as well as three to five years of experience administering or enforcing state health regulations and environmental regulations. Additionally, three or more years in a managerial or supervisory capacity are needed. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.

The hourly range for this non-union position is Grade 9 with an annual salary between $104,216 and $140,057 based on a 40-hour work week. Interested candidates must submit their application and resume by email to jobs@truro-ma.gov before the stated deadline.
