Mashpee Residents Reap the Benefits of Stronger Coastal Resilience with Reduced Flood Insurance Costs
Mashpee residents and business owners with a National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) policy will see a 15% annual reduction in premiums thanks to the collaborative Community Rating System (CRS) program between the town and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) Sea Grant, and Barnstable County’s Cape Cod Cooperative Extension.

Barnstable County Launches ‘AquiFund’ to Help Homeowners Afford Septic System Replacements, Upgrades, and New Sewer Connections
After 16 years and over $56 million in low-interest loans distributed for approximately 4,700 septic system repairs and replacements on Cape Cod, the Community Septic Management Loan Program (CSMLP) expanded its program to include loans for the installation of innovative/alternative technologies, as well as sewer connections.

Today the Barnstable County Commissioners designated the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod (AFCC) as Barnstable County’s official arts agency and launched the AquiFund program to provide septic upgrade and sewer connection low interest loans for county residents.
