The remnants of Tropical Storm Nicole are expected to impact southern New England beginning this afternoon. The primary threat with this system will be gusty winds, up to 55 mph. The highest winds are expected across RI and the Cape and Islands, where a wind advisory is in place beginning at 10 PM on Friday. Between 0.5″ and 1.5″ of rain can be expected, with the highest totals forecast over western Massachusetts and Connecticut. There is a low risk for nuisance urban and poor drainage flooding as many storm drains remain blocked by leave clutter. Hazardous marine conditions are also expected.
